The latest exhibition by Jenni Rope and Matti Pikkujämsä “Blue things” will be held at CASE from 10th to 21st October 2018. This is the Tokyo version of the exhibition series by the duo held at LOKAL gallery in Helsinki earlier this year.
DATE: 10th to 21st October
VENUE: CASE GALLERY
PARTY: 7PM FRIDAY, 12th October 2018
About the Exhibition:
Jenni and Matti became friends when they were studying at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki in 1999. Blue Things is their first joint exhibition, and it is inspired by shared interest in exploring the interface between arts and crafts and in experimenting new materials.
The themes of the exhibition are friendship, the colour blue and the modulating form of square. Through experimenting new techniques they have found new ways to explore their own work and they have learned from each other. Placing two artistic approaches side by side has opened new perspectives into their work.
Unique paintings and originals as well as special designs for small Finnish manufacturers are displayed at the exhibition. Mum’s, Lapuan Kankurit and Sarita Koivukoski Ceramics were selected to be the cooperative partners.
